Targets are upper size budgets, not exact sizes or a guarantee of upload acceptance. This tool counts 1 KB as 1,024 bytes. PNG has no JPEG-style quality slider; JPG fills transparency with white. Re-encoding can make files larger. Keep the original and inspect the output.

Frequently asked questions
Can I prepare an image under 100, 200 or 500 KB?
Enter that target in KB. These are general budgets, not platform rules. Set maximum dimensions if needed, or allow further dimension reduction when acceptable. Some targets cannot be met; the tool reports failure instead of offering an oversized result as success.
Will compression shrink my image dimensions?
Maximum width and height fit the image within your limits, preserving its aspect ratio without enlarging it. Further reduction to reach a target is off by default and requires your choice. Check any minimum dimensions required by the destination.
What should I check before uploading?
Check actual bytes, dimensions, format, orientation and readability. Lower quality or smaller dimensions can lose detail, and transparent PNG images become white-backed when converted to JPG. Successful compression does not guarantee acceptance by another service.
